The Only Important Question This Primary

The Only Important Question This Primary

There is only one important question this primary season: Will the candidate safeguard our sovereignty? There’s one easy way to tell, one policy, beyond which all other policy stances are irrelevant. Amnesty for illegal immigrants. Not jobs, the economy, foreign policy, health care, or anything else you can name. Illegal immigrants are taking our jobs, using our schools and health care system at taxpayer expense, and committing violent crime with impunity. And of course, they are voting in our elections. We already know there are 35,000 cases of suspected fraud in North Carolina alone according to the NC Board of Elections. Putting tens of millions on the “pathway to citizenship” will only exacerbate voter fraud and make it more difficult to stop. We’re not enforcing our immigration laws as it is. What’s to ensure the 30 million who broke our laws to get here comply with the new Amnesty laws, whatever they turn out to be? In the meantime, if we’re not requiring voters to prove who they are with government-issued photo ID, then our votes are no longer sovereign, and no other policy stance matters. I guess that makes me a one-policy voter.

Safeguarding our sovereignty requires a solid stance against illegal immigration and Amnesty. Otherwise, a candidate’s just vying for control of the Titanic. If you believe in a pathway to citizenship like Mark Harris, or you were a lobbyist for Big Agriculture and cry that farmers can’t survive without illegal labor like David Rouzer, or you gutted E-verify making it easier for businesses to hire illegal labor like Thom Tillis, then it’s simple: you’re not safeguarding our sovereignty because our basic right to vote is nullified when anyone, including illegal immigrants, can vote and not have to prove they’re eligible. So these men are not equipped to take that oath of office wherein one promises to “support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies foreign and domestic.” I took that oath when I joined the Marines. My husband took a similar oath when he became a citizen. It’s nearly identical, “I will support and defend the Constitution and laws of the United States of America against all enemies, foreign and domestic; that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same…”.

The oaths of office matter, as do the sanctity of our votes and whom we choose to represent us. That’s why it’s easy to support men like Greg Brannon for U.S. Senate and Woody White for NC’s 7th District. I vetted both candidates in person before lending my support. Brannon is a constitutional encyclopedia, we know exactly what his guidebook is when it comes to policy. Secure borders and opposition to Amnesty are no brainers. With so many assets – an intelligent, well-spoken, pro-life doctor with a big beautiful family from all over the world – backing him is a no-brainer against Thom Tillis, who supported Common Core, state exchanges for Obamacare, brought us toll roads and is backed by the likes of Karl-guaranteed-to-lose-Rove. It’s easy to support Woody White, a conservative comfortable with something the GOP fails at: making the conservative argument to get government out of our way to prosperity and security. He’s also been very accessible, visible and has a fire in his belly to represent us in DC. Here in NC7 we have an open dialogue with him which we will continue when he wins. Meanwhile David Rouzer is dogging lawyers in DC, yet has one publicly fundraising for him, a Democrat lawyer and lobbyist, Rufus Edmisten, who abruptly resigned as NC’s Attorney General just as his offices were being audited. And while his latest mailer touts his supposed strength on illegal immigration, he lobbied for Big Ag in 2007 so they could get their cheap labor and in 2011 said he supported a pathway to citizenship in a Duplin county public meeting.  It doesn’t take much to figure out where his loyalties lie, and what he’s likely to do in Washington.

In today’s elections we don’t just need candidates who will keep the status quo, managing the Titanic as it sinks along with Boehner, Cantor, and Rove. This is not a contest for the faint and weak. The liberal opposition is playing for keeps, and there’s nothing they won’t do to win. We need representatives who fight the corrupt establishments of both parties. I’ll take the constitutional conservatives who are not afraid to argue.

Conservatives: Doing the Work Establishment GOP Just Won’t Do

Defunding Obamacare, continuing resolution, government shutdown, the incompetence circus of the Obamacare launch.  The Fall rollercoaster on the Hill has been quite something to watch, and also very instructive.  We have learned just how spineless John Boehner, Mitch McConnell, Eric Cantor and the other Senate Republicans really are.  We have learned that they will studiously ignore 70% of the American people who have been communicating their opposition to Obamacare through every means at their disposal.  We have seen that they care only for their own power and money, and nothing for the constituents they represent.  We have seen just how vicious they can become when that power, the Establishment status quo, is reminded that they do not rule the citizens, the sovereign American citizen grants them representative duties.  And we take them away, too.

cruz-vs-establishment-600Establishment Republicans can’t stand what Senator Ted Cruz did when he stood on the Senate floor and vigorously articulated the problems with Obamacare because it contrasted their own greed and cowardice so obviously. From its unconstitutionality, to the unfairness of exemptions and subsidies, to its negative impact on the economy and healthcare, and everyday Americans, Cruz made the conservative argument the whole Republican party should have been making.  Imagine if the rest of his party had done the same!  Imagine if they had spent as much time and energy supporting the man doing the right thing as they did attacking, undermining, and opposing him.  Imagine too, if they had spent as much time and energy working to persuade Democrats to vote with them to defund what Max Baucus (D-MT), the author, called the law: “a train wreck.”  Making the conservative case, it would hardly matter that the media is the Left’s propaganda machine.  They wouldn’t be able to contain it.  Cruz took the conservative message to the people, and many heard him. It was powerful, and the gutless Republicans hate that.

While trashing the Tea Party (which is to say everyday conservative-leaning Americans), the GOP amoebas keep telling that same group to deliver them the majority and then they will fight to stop Obamacare.  We all know that now that it’s in, it will be all but impossible to stop it.  The near-impossible is hardly the specialty of today’s GOP.  And what will they do when the inevitable argument comes that, yes, the whole thing is a catastrophe – the solution is a one-payer system?  Will they fight to open us to a free market solution instead?  No.  They don’t want to stop Obamacare.  They want to control it.  Obamacare is a cancer that needs to be cut out before it can spread, and the House did its Constitutional duty by using the power of the purse to deny funding.  The rest just showed us their utter cowardice and indifference to the will of the people and their own oath of office.  They wrapped themselves with blame for the shutdown long before it happened in order to point the finger at the real conservatives in the party.  But the real conservatives are not to blame for the shutdown any more than they’re responsible for Obamacare itself.  They are the ones doing the right thing, and the ones doing the wrong thing despise it.

Whatever the Boehners, McConnells, McCains and Jeb Bushes are saying, you can bet doing the opposite will put the country on the right track.  Jeb says we need to step back and cool it, so what we really need to do is bring the heat vigorously and constantly.  Remember that when they are telling you to cool it, they are saying cool the fight for liberty in the face of tyranny.  Cool your jets on the fight against Obamacare, the newest form of slavery.  HELL NO WE WON’T.

If you are a conservative and you’re not being attacked by liberals and squishy Republicans, you’re doing it wrong.  Winston Churchill was called a warmonger, among many other slurs, for opposing Hitler, while Neville Chamberlain was given hero’s praise for appeasing him.  Who would you rather have been?   Who will you be today?  So keep doing the work Establishment Republicans won’t do.  Keep bringing the heat against them.  Raise your voice.  Write your ink dry.  Call and email your reps and bug the hell out of them.  They are accountable to YOU.  And support people like Senators Cruz, Lee, and Rand Paul who are actually upholding their oath to defend the Constitution against all enemies foreign and domestic.  They’re leaving it all on the field to preserve liberty for all of us.  Thank them.

Persuasion, Not Pandering

As the GOP struggles with “rebranding” and how they can turn around the 2012 defeat and win the future the answer is simple.  It has nothing to do with any particular group or moving farther left – those are the same ideas that have failed the Republicans for years.  Instead of pandering to individual groups the GOP should focus on spreading the truth that conservative policy benefits all people – regardless of sex, race, economic status, origin, preference, favorite color.

Lower taxes benefit everyone: keep more of your own money and do what you want with it.  A black gay business owner benefits from keeping more of his hard-earned cash just as much as a straight white working mom.  The enforcement of our immigration laws benefit all citizens present and future – especially minorities trying to work in Obama’s failed economy, and especially legal immigrants who abided by our laws so that they could be protected by our laws.  Strong borders and foreign policy protect all citizens regardless of what may come before the hyphenated “XYZ-American.”

Gun rights provide that every law-abiding citizen regardless of background is able to defend themselves – be it against home invasion or tyranny.  Traditional social values strengthen society for all – even those who choose not to live by them.  The same for religion – the whole society benefits from the freedom to practice their faith and Judeo-Christian values – whether or not they practice or believe in any faith at all.  Constitutional law and Conservative values protect and elevate women and minorities, they give children the best chance for stability and success, the poor a better chance to get out of poverty, and they strengthen society as a whole so that all have a chance at success and happiness.

Despite the myth of diversity hucksters, it’s not what makes us different that brings us together – it’s what we have in common that unites us.  Our differences are what make things interesting and these can even help us shore up our weaknesses, but the whole point of equality under the law is that no group gets special treatment or special rights.  We’re all equal in our right to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness – however we define it.  The Constitution doesn’t define what makes you happy and neither does conservative policy.  Meanwhile, leftist Democrats try to tell you what you need or don’t need – buy this lightbulb; can’t buy that sized drink; you don’t need that kind of gun; you need to pay for someone else.

The GOP has yet to harness the beauty of the uniquely American guarantee of our inalienable rights.  The guarantee of Liberty! That is what created the foundation for the most diverse country in the world boasting some of the world’s greatest inventions, discoveries and successes by people of every stripe and shape.  It doesn’t matter who you are, who you were, where you came from, what sex you are or what color your skin.  Your rights are protected under the law and there are basically no restrictions on what you can do with your life – whatever effort you are willing to put into it as long as you’re not harming another.  Conservative ideals and policies are freedom-loving while left-wing policies are all about imposing restrictions on others.  This is easy to show and the GOP should exploit it at every turn.

Expose the hypocrisy of leftists championing freedom of speech while stifling it in the public school systems.  Show the hypocrisy of their promotion of European socialism while every country under such economies is going bankrupt before our eyes.  Shed light on the hypocrisy of the claim to be for the little guy and against crony capitalism while giving their favored “green” companies sweet taxpayer funded billion-dollar grants to produce nothing.  Display the hypocrisy of those who will scream about a “right” to abortion but are against capital punishment and all about more gun-control laws in the name of protecting children.  Show the hypocrisy of leftists who are against Americans being able to practice their faith and own guns but demand no judgment on extremist Muslims who perform honor killings and mass murder according to their faith.  Illustrate the double standard of a party that shouts “War on Women!” while they’re silent about the violence against women endemic in Islam as Sharia is increasingly being insinuated into our court systems.

The GOP also needs to recapture the spirit of its great heritage: ending slavery, championing equal and voting rights for blacks, desegregation, women’s suffrage and equal pay for equal work just to name a few.

Every time Republicans lose they say they need to be more like their opposition to win, but that’s the same failed thinking that keeps losing them elections.  The GOP doesn’t need to be more like the opposition, they need to be more persuasive than the opposition.  It’s no easy task when they control the media and make most of the music and movies.  But naming the right goal would be a good start.  We’re Americans: black, white, gay, straight, guy, gal, young and old.  We all eat, sleep, breathe and bleed, and we all want a better life for our children.  The Democrat party is divisive.  Let the GOP be uniting – not by pandering to individual groups, but by appealing to what we all hold in common despite our differences.

Black Is You, Black is Me, Black is Us, Black is Free

The GOP convention is almost at a close and those attending are reporting amazing energy coming from the event.  With great speakers like Condoleezza Rice, Chris Christie, Artur Davis and Paul Ryan the political race has been reinvigorated with the vitality of strong Conservative ideas being taken to the opposition with vigor.

In the face of strong black Conservatives like Mia Love and Artur Davis, the Left’s racist roots are showing.  Democrats are, after all, the party of slavery, who opposed voting and civil rights for blacks and created Jim Crow.

They believe no black person could possibly believe in lower taxes, smaller government, strong foreign policy and family values.  While claiming to be for the best interests of non-whites everywhere, they’re still for affirmative action which says you’re not able to get where you want to go through merit, so let’s have quotas to force businesses to hire based on skin color.  While claiming that Republicans want to “put y’all back in chains,” Democrat policies of the last 4 years have hit minorities and women the hardest.

Their idea of minorities succeeding is not that each individual should be his own man, acting of his own free will and according to his conscience.  If one dares to step off the Democrat plantation and vote the party that fought to end slavery and proposed and passed law to guarantee their voting and civil rights and end segregation, he’s branded an Uncle Tom, an “oreo,” and worse.  The Left has lashed out at both Condoleezza Rice and Mia Love as “house N****.”   Meanwhile, since the media can find no Republicans using racist language, they claim it’s a “dog whistle,” all the while ignoring or justifying the recorded racist slurs by Democrats and Leftists.

But this is old news, the Left has always been this way.  Since they’re policies have not helped but in fact hurt the black community, they have to rely on demonizing their opposition.  Just as Margaret Sanger intended, 70% of abortion clinics are found in black communities.  Where the government has insisted that blacks can’t succeed without government aid, blacks make up a disproportionate amount of those on welfare.  And as this dependence on the government and prevalence of abortion has increased, the family unit has fallen apart.  Kids who grow up without fathers are more likely to end up in jail.  Leftists want to distract from what they’ve done to destroy the black community by wild accusations that every white cop is looking for a minority to target.  But the thing most criminals in jail have in common is not in fact their skin color, it’s the absence of fathers from their childhoods.

Unfortunately for minorities everywhere, Democrats have screamed enough lies about Republicans being racists to cover their own history and tendency of actual racism.

Fortunately, in the Age of Information the people can see that where everyone who disagrees with Democrats is called a racist, we’re all racists now, and someone’s been crying wolf.

Amnesty & Losing the Meaning of Citizenship

The below was adapted from my welcome introduction to the iiiMPACT Conference we created.  You can see video, photos, and other info on this event at iiiMPACT.com.

iiiMPACT arose out of a conversation between a friend and me.  We were talking about how our votes are being nullified by illegal immigrants and dead people.  This made illegal immigration and our administration’s lack of law enforcement the utmost concern.  What good is it to talk about jobs, jobs, jobs, if illegals are taking those jobs that should go to citizens?  What good is it for Republicans to ask for our votes when our votes are being stolen, our administration suing those (e.g. Florida) who are trying to purge their voter rolls of fraud?

Delivered August 11th, 2012

“I will support and defend the Constitution and laws of the United States of America against all enemies, foreign and domestic; and I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same.”

Yesterday my beloved husband said this when he took the Oath of Allegiance and became a citizen.  After many years, thousands of dollars spent and miles travelled, reams of paperwork, and countless hours of waiting, he finally reached that moment he’s been dreaming of since he was a child in his native Brazil.

Conversely, on June 15th Barak Obama unconstitutionally decreed that 800 thousand illegal youth will be granted legal working status.  He said these are just hard-working, patriotic people.  HOW DOES HE KNOW?  How does he know that they or the estimated 12-20 million illegals are here in good faith, for the right reasons?  How does he know whether each one of those millions is criminal or lawful?

Of course, HE DOESN’T.  They haven’t been interviewed and vetted.  Neither their stories, nor their countries of origin, nor their reasons for being here have been recorded.  One thing we do know.  Their first act in our country was to break our laws.  By coming here illegally they set themselves their children up for insecurity and failure, unlike the millions of legal immigrants who respected our laws so that they could be protected by our laws.

Meanwhile, our border agents are being instructed not to do their jobs as border agents.  In fact they are now instructed to run away.  We know about catch-and-release under which law enforcement officers who arrest illegal criminals even for violent crimes are being told to release them for such reasons as “He says he’s getting a GED.”

The more our laws are ignored, the longer our laws go unenforced, the more lawless we become.  A lawless country cannot and does not protect and guarantee the rights of the people.  It moves according to the will and whim of the powerful.

It’s interesting to note that immigrants who came from despotic or communist countries tell me they recognize that that’s where this country is heading.  Action by action, whether it’s ignoring illegal immigration, NDAA, Obamacare, Fast & Furious, Solyndra and the rest, we are becoming like the poor & corrupt countries from which they fled.  Through our lack of border control and immigration law enforcement we are losing the importance and meaning of American citizenship.

Immigrants past and present did not come here to find a country like their own.  They came to find one better, safer, and with more opportunity than you can shake a stick at.  They came to escape poverty, tyranny and corruption, where their rights would be guaranteed and protected.

Every country across the globe exercises strict protection of its borders.  In some countries you’re simply shot for trespassing the border.  Travelers and citizens alike are required to carry identifying documentation, and interestingly your religion is part of that documentation.  It is a difficult and long process to become a citizen of any country.  And yet here in America we’re being told that we are somehow against immigrants simply because we want to enforce the laws under which everyone, immigrants included, want and need to be protected.

But we know this tactic.  It’s subterfuge designed to shut us up quickly, just like all the baseless charges of racism so prevalent in our politics today.

They hope to shout us down and shut us up, and a lot of people including politicians on both sides of the isle are succumbing.  Both parties benefit from illegal immigration, whether the prize is a new voting bloc, cheap labor, or both.  So on one side are the timid who are paralyzed with fear of being called a name, and on the other side those driven by money and political expediency.

That’s why We the People put this together.

You may have seen Civitas’s video detailing voter fraud in North Carolina after the in which people were rejected because they weren’t citizens, and yet many of those same illegals were registered to vote.

That’s why we created iiimpact on this subject.  It started out with two of us taking about the fact that if our VOTES ARE NULLIFIED, our SOVEREIGNTY is gone.  Elections won’t matter and we have already lost.

Iiimpact is a bipartisan event.  Why?  Because an illegal drunk driver who kills a citizen does not distinguish whether his victim was a Democrat or Republican, liberal or conservative.  The billions of taxpayer spent supporting illegal immigrants in our hospitals, schools, welfare and social security come from both Democrats and Republicans.  Political affiliation is irrelevant to the victim who is assaulted by the violent criminal who was caught and released because of our spineless and corrupt so-called department of homeland “SECURITY.”  This is a bipartisan issue.

Iiimpact is a testament to what is POSSIBLE here in our beloved democratic republic.  It’s a testament to the Potential of everyday citizens to lawfully affect change for the better in our country.  This isn’t possible in so many countries.  IT’S UP TO US.

Out-Pandering the Panderer-in-Chief

It was bad enough when Emperor Obama announced his June 15 decree to bypass Congress and grant legal status and work permits to 800,000 illegal immigrants.  Even worse, however, was that Romney and the Republicans have completely ignored that this is an unconstitutional, impeachable act.  Where is the outcry against this Tyrant in Chief?  The silence is deafening.

Romney doesn’t care that Obama has acted unconstitutionally, he’s fine with it.  He’ll have that power for himself if his spinelessness doesn’t cost him the election.  And as Obama made his move pandering to Hispanics for their votes, Romney is doing exactly the same.  He’ll staple green cards to diplomas?  He wouldn’t have the constitutional right to do so.  He won’t repeal Obama’s executive order?  Of course not.  Both parties are the same, neither acting according to the Constitution and varying only by slight degrees.

This is no alternative to Obama and it gives the lie to Romney’s campaign slogan, “Believe in America.”  If he did he would be talking about those principles that make America great and that foster the desire to become American through legal immigration.  He would be talking about how thwarting and undermining the Constitution hurts the citizens, including legal immigrants, whose rights are guaranteed and protected by it.

As Romney dangles green cards and other incentives in exchange for Hispanic support, so will he lose the support of mainstream America – you know, the ones affected by illegal immigration.  He should be campaigning on American Conservative values – fiscal responsibility, strong national security, smaller government and the like – because these are good for all citizens regardless of race, religion or creed.  Instead, he feints left to out-pander the panderer-in-chief.

Posing as an opponent to big government, Romney’s declarations would expand the bureaucracy of the already overwhelmed legal immigration system.  Legal immigrants currently going through the process will be shoved aside just as they will be because of Obama’s June 15 pronouncement.  Focusing on a tiny group at the expense of the rest, he makes clear his disregard for the rule of law, the suffering economy and the lack of employment.  Romney shows that he, too, will say whatever he wants in order to get elected.  This is our alternative to Obama?

Maybe it’s time for a Scott Walker write-in.

Grandfathering in Illegal “Youth”

On Friday Obama decreed that illegal “youth” under 30 who’ve been here more than 5 consecutive years will be granted legal status and work permits.  This dictatorial step is just one of many steps he has taken ignoring his oath to uphold the Constitution, let alone to operate within the powers allotted him by our Constitutional Republic.  As he takes this step, many on the Left have already been working to prevent voter ID laws from being put in place to prevent voter fraud (many on the Right have not done enough to oppose this).  Grandfathering in millions of illegals who won’t have to show that they are citizens will result in even more voter fraud than is already taking place.  If that happens and Obama wins a second term, it will be the Republicans’ fault for not opposing this move, requiring proof of citizenship to vote, and on a broader scale sitting on their hands with regard to illegal immigration and border security.

This will also add to our economic nightmare.  Legal immigrants will be pushed aside as the government employees who currently handle immigration cases will have millions of new cases dropped in their laps.  The cost will be staggering and of course will be placed squarely on the backs of the taxpayers.  As my husband has been going through the legal immigration process and we have been doing everything according to the law, it is unfair and infuriating for Obama to kick aside law abiding legal immigrants and to burden the taxpayers with the expense of executing his plan all so he can widen his voting base.

Obama (and all who are for amnesty for illegals) will deprive the 20+ million unemployed AMERICANS of jobs for which they are desperate.  He talks out of both sides of his mouth, first as he delivered this “decree” Friday but then alternately as he also says he won’t rest until everyone in the country has a job.  Proponents of amnesty ignore the great cost to American citizens: in jobs; in the $2.5 billion (in NC alone) in tax-payer-funded services such as hospitals, prisons and schools; in American kids losing spots in classrooms that are being taken up by illegal immigrants; in the closing of schools and hospitals;  in the Mexican drug cartels taking over national park areas and they and other criminals who have taken hundreds of lives a year.

When Obama or anyone else says illegal immigrants are just good, hard-working people, it’s a lie – not because many are not well-intentioned or hard-working – but because they can’t possibly know who is well-intentioned and who isn’t.  They haven’t interviewed them all, they haven’t examined all of their backgrounds and reasons for coming to America.  That is the job of immigration officials – the part they all skipped.  We know too well that the federal government is not enforcing its own immigration laws, now we’re being told that this incompetent administration is going to do the job on millions more?  They can’t even keep known criminals that they deport out of the country!  What we do know about all illegal immigrants is that regardless of their intentions, their first act coming to this country was to commit a crime, to come into the country illegally.  We know that they did not care about our Constitution or our laws enough to follow them.  We know that many are taking advantage of our tax-payer provided services, and therefore stealing from the taxpayers.  Those that we’re told are “good tax-paying workers” are committing fraud if they have tax ID numbers.  Knowing that, it’s totally absurd to make blanket statements about their goodness.  Not to mention they don’t give a crap about good, hardworking, tax-paying American citizens!

This also promotes racism against Latinos.  When immigration laws are being enforced, the general public knows that those they see on the street, in the schools, in the workplaces have a right to be here.  Because the laws are not being enforced, average people don’t know if the Latinos they see every day are there as law-abiding people applying to be or already Americans or are a burden on them as outlined in the previous paragraph.  This will inevitably breed suspicion and resentment that would not exist if the laws were being enforced.  It has nothing to do with actual racism: circumstances that favor one group unfairly while not protecting another are going to have this result.

Both parties are promoting their own brand of this same act.  Marco Rubio is making his own version of the Dream Act wherein children will be granted amnesty, which inevitably means their families will be granted amnesty as well because (whine) “you caaaaaaaaan’t separate the faaaaaaamilies!”  Romney was slow and flimsy in his response to Obama’s Friday announcement.  Republicans from the top down are being told to keep quiet on illegal immigration.  The Democrats are all for illegal immigration, the Republicans are spineless in dealing with the problem seriously and effectively.  On the one hand the Left wants a wider set of Democrat voters, on the other the Right is in bed with Big Business and cheap illegal labor.  Both are willing to do more for illegals than for American citizens, yet whomever next becomes a citizen will be the next group each will try to exploit.

We certainly have to confront the problem of children who are not of legal age to have made the decisions to break our laws.  If our elected officials would close the door and turn off the faucet, then we could get to mopping and drying.  And then a nice buff and wax.
